Yes. You add a card when you set your business up, then it's free for 14 days. Nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then and pay nothing. We email you three days and 24 hours before it ends.
It's £3.99 per active person, per month, for your first 10 people, then £1.49 for each extra person. Everything is included. A team of 12 pays £42.88 a month. Everyone who has joined your team counts — the owner and managers too. People who haven't accepted their invite yet don't, and nor do people you've removed. It adjusts automatically as people join or leave.
Yes. There's a Mately app for iPhone and Android, and Mately also works in any web browser, on a phone or a computer. Staff use their own phones.
You can switch on a check for clocking in: staff have to be on your workplace Wi-Fi, or within a set distance of your workplace. It's checked only at the moment they clock in. Where they are isn't stored, and nobody is tracked during a shift. The Wi-Fi check needs the Mately app, because a browser can't see which network it's on; the distance check works in a phone's browser too.
Passwords are hashed with Argon2id, traffic is encrypted, two-factor sign-in is available, access is scoped to your business, sensitive admin actions are logged, and the data is held in Frankfurt.
Yes. Approved hours download as a file ready to import into Sage, Xero, BrightPay or QuickBooks, or as CSV or Excel. Mately prepares the hours; your payroll software pays people. Mately doesn't run payroll or make payslips.
You keep access to the end of the paid period. Then you choose: delete your data straight away, or keep it for 30 days so you can export it first.
It sits on the rota planner: type what's different this week and Mately drafts the rota for you to check. Nothing goes to staff until you publish.
